180. Green Beans and Ham



Recipe:  Green Beans and Ham

1 meaty ham hock
4 cups of fresh green beans
1 cup of chicken stock
salt
pepper

Wash and prepare beans.  Snap the ends if you like, I don't always do this for this recipe.

In a crock pot add all of the ingredients.

Set temperature to low and cook for 6-8 hours.  If you choose to cook this side dish on high, 3 hours is enough time.

To serve, I remove the meat from the ham hock, toss the beans and ham together and season with salt/pepper.

I am loving this presentation for a simple yet elegant veggie dish + meat. Why did not I think about this style of approach for serving?
